Yvonne Holdsworth

Yvonne, daughter of Dale and Bessie (Brogden) Cose, was born February 3, 1922, at Deloit, Iowa. She graduated from Deloit High School and went on to work as a clerk at Farner's Clothing Store in Denison for several years. On September 1, 1947, Yvonne was united in marriage with Harold J. Holdsworth at Deloit. They lived on a farm east of Manilla where Yvonne was a busy farm wife, and they moved to Manilla in 1986. Yvonne was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Denison. She was involved in Eastern Star for over 60 years and was an American Legion Auxiliary past president. Yvonne was active in the Jefferson Community Club and the Manilla Manor nursing home Board of Directors. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Harold died in 1995 and Yvonne continued to live in her home in Manilla. She had made plans to move to the nursing home, however she died peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Yvonne was 93 years, 3 months and 11 days of age. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Harold Holdsworth; siblings: Mervin Cose (Margaret); Allen Cose (Mary Jane); Jennings Cose, as a child; Wilma Ells (Benjamin); Erma Stevenson (Harold); Curtis Cose (Laura Mae); Jesse Cose (Linnea); Leonard Cose (Alice); and Thelma Lyman (Merrill). She is survived by sisters-in-law Donna Holdsworth of Manilla and Dorothy Ballantine of Ft. Myers, FL; brother-in-law Lawrence Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK; and many nieces and nephews, including special nephew Mark Holdsworth and wife Jan of Manilla.
