William Leo Lengemann, age 72, of Eagan, Minnesota, and formerly of Bayard, passed away unexpectedly in April of 2021 at his home in Minnesota. He will be buried next to his parents in Orange Township Cemetery in Guthrie County IA. A private service will be held by his family.
William Leo Lengemann, son of Leo William Lengemann and Betty Jean (Durbin) Lengemann, was born on February 14, 1949 at Carroll Iowa. He graduated from Bayard Community School in 1967. He later attended Bailey Technical School in St. Louis Missouri to study Gas and Diesel Motors and Refrigeration. William entered the Navy in 1970 and served in the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged in 1974. After the Navy he made Minnesota his home. He did different jobs related to trucking, mechanics, and hydraulics. He loved working with his hands and learning how things worked. He will be greatly missed by his family, his neighbors, and his friends.
William is preceded in death by his father, Leo Lengemann, his mother, Betty (Durbin) Lengemann, and his brother, Thomas Lengemann. He is survived by his siblings Sharon (Jerry) Hall of Southfield MI, Mary (Len) Wood of Patterson IA, Cindy (Robert) Sievers of Coon Rapids IA, Sandy Lengemann of Council Bluffs IA, Dan Lengemann of Ames IA, and several nieces and nephews.
