Velda Feld

Velda Ann, daughter of William and Reacka Meyer was born on December 6, 1919 at Randolph, Nebraska. She attended school in Randolph. On November 3, 1940 Velda was united in marriage with Anthony Feld at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll by Reverend Poeckes. The couple made their home in Carroll where Velda worked at St. Anthony Hospital. After her husband passed away in 1979, Velda continued working. She later retired from St. Anthony Hospital after 40 years of service. In 1991, Velda moved from her home in Carroll to an apartment and later she moved to Swan House. In 2001, Velda became a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home. On January 6, 2011 Velda died there at the age of 91 years and 1 month. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Velda is survived by nieces Jean and husband Bill Snyder of Carroll and Lois and husband Leon Green of Ogallala, Nebraska; sister-in-law Mildred Feld of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, other relatives and friends.
