Sylvia Yvonne, daughter of James and (Mary Nielsen) Molgaard, was born October 30, 1916, near Kimballton, in Audubon County, Iowa. She attended Sharon #2 rural school west of Audubon. On July 6, 1937 Sylvia was united in marriage with Merle Wesley "Jack" Bobenmoyer at Harding, Nebraska. Jack and Sylvia farmed south of Manning for a few years and then moved to a farm near Audubon. After Jack started working for the Iowa Conservation Commission they lived in Spirit Lake and then Lake View where Sylvia managed the variety store. She was also a waitress at one time. Sylvia was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church near the family home. In her spare time she enjoyed tending her flower beds, traveling, fishing, crocheting and doing puzzles and crosswords. Above all, she loved being with her family and friends. After Jack's death on September 4, 1990, Sylvia continued to live in Lake View. When her health deteriorated she became a resident of Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View. She passed away there on Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the age of 94 years, two months, and 14 days.
