Sandra Jean, daughter of Floyd E. and Lucille (Johnson) Petersen, was born July 17, 1942, in Joliet, IL. She grew up in Wilton Center, IL, and graduated from Wilton Center High School in 1960. She then attended McKendree College in 1960 "61 after which she worked as a secretary for Petersen Printing in Wilton Center. On September 21, 1963, Sandra was united in marriage with Norman N. Andresen. Two daughters were born to this union. They made their home in Chicago, IL, where she worked as a secretary for United Van Lines and Casting Engineers. In 1976 they moved to Skokie, IL, and she continued with Casting Engineers as executive secretary and in internal sales. In 1986 went to work for Faucet-Oueens, eventually becoming their Director of Export Sales. Then in 2003 she and her husband moved to Highland Park, IL. while she continued at Faucet-Oueens, retiring after 20 years when her health began to fail in 2006. Sandra worked hard throughout her life to juggle work, play and family. She and her husband owned several rental properties and spent much time maintaining them. She traveled internationally for business and loved immersing herself in the people and cultures of South and Central America. Sandra and Norman enjoyed traveling to Miami to see their daughter as well as tailgating for Miami Hurricanes football games. Throughout her life, Sandra found pleasure in entertaining and celebrating with good friends and family. Sandra was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2004. Her family was able to care for her at home in Highland Park, IL, where she died on Saturday, October 7, 2006, at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 20 days. Preceding Sandra in death are her parents. She is survived by her husband Norman Andresen of Highland Park, IL; two daughters Tanya and husband Douglas Wojcik of Lyons, CO and Tara and husband Kevin Lane of Deerfield Beach, FL; two grandsons Jared and Colin Lane of Deerfield Beach, FL; sister Marcia Lafley of Denver, CO ; other relatives and many friends.
