    Ruth Ann, Daughter of Edgar and Estella (Schwaller) Lewis was born May 11, 1939 in Dedham, Iowa. She attended grade school in Dedham and graduated from Carroll Kuemper High School in 1957. After graduation Ruth moved to Des Moines and worked at Meredith Corporation. She later moved to Arizona and worked as a waitress while staying with her sister Darlene before returning to the Dedham area.

    On April 23, 1960, Ruth was united in marriage with Franklin Cretsinger in Dedham, Iowa. The couple made their home south of Coon Rapids.  Ruth primarily worked at home lovingly caring for her four children, and as they grew, she worked other various jobs in the Coon Rapids area.

    Ruth was a member of the Bridge Club and Needle Club. In her free time she loved to bake, cook, play cards, and above all care for her children and grandchildren.  Ruth always made sure that everyone had plenty of food and her warmth and sense of humor were loved by all.

    For the last 30 years, Ruth courageously battled rheumatoid arthritis.  Through it all she remained strong, upbeat and never complained. In early 2008 her condition worsened. She was admitted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on April 7th.  She died there on April 11, 2008 at the age of 68 years and 11 months.  

    Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Lewis.

    She is survived by her husband Franklin Cretsinger of Coon Rapids;  children: Charles and wife Tara Cretsinger of Dubuque; Mark Cretsinger of Lawson, MO; Linda and husband Kraig Reis of Coon Rapids and Christopher Cretsinger and wife Kristin of Waukee; grandchildren: Nicholas Reis, Abby Reis, Joshua Reis, Kaleb Reis, Jake Cretsinger, Ben Cretsinger, Isaac Cretsinger and Franklin Cretsinger; sisters: Darlene and husband Dan Millard of Scottsdale, AZ; Norma and husband Eldon Ault of Ahwatukee, AZ; Sharon Boles of Spirit Lake; Kathy and husband Jim Sporrer of Pontiac, IL; Jenny and husband Gary Otto of Muscatine and Denise and husband Jerry Cook of Bayard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
