Ronald G Nelson

Ronald Guy Nelson, son of Mearle Frank and Mary Alice (McCollough) Nelson, was born May 11, 1954. Ron spent his life farming, a life-long passion. He was lucky to be able to be a steward of the land with his son, Aaron.

Ron was united in marriage with Karen Reese, daughter of Lowell and Julia Reese of Northwood, Iowa on February 18, 1994. They enjoyed their married life and often celebrated the day by sitting on the porch watching their dogs play while the sun was setting.

Ron passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the age of 68 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen Nelson of Denison; son Aaron Nelson and wife Tiffany Maloy of Vail and their child Caitlin; daughter Tracy and husband Chad Vogl and their children Ashton, Hailey and Cody of Halbur; sister Joyce and husband Gordon Weller, Jr. of Westside. Ron is also survived by Lowell and Julia Reese; sister-in-law Deb and her husband Daron Schillerberg of Denison and their children, Tayler and Jessie; two brothers-in-law: Steve Reese and wife Julie of Clear Lake and their children Abby and husband Pete, and Aaron Reese; and brother-in-law Ken Reese and significant other, Sherie Stofer of New Mexico; sister-in-law Terri and husband Bob Weselmann of Northwood, Iowa.
