Roceal Mary Rosy?, daughter of Joe A. and Mary (Von Bon) Brincks, was born February 22, 1923 in Willey, Iowa. After completing her schooling at St. Marys in Willey, she worked at home and worked out as a hired girl. On November 23, 1943, Rosy was united in marriage with Clinton Henry Cy? Knobbe at St. Marys Church in Willey. They were the parents of four children. Rosy and Cy first lived in Lidderdale and farmed the Knobbe family farm northeast of town. In 1954 they purchased their own farm southeast of Coon Rapids where they lived and raised their family. In 1999 Cy became a resident of the Bayard Care Center and Rosy moved into Bayard. After Cys death in 2000, Rosy remained in her home until health problems necessitated a move to the Bayard Nursing and Rehab Center. When that facility closed, she moved into St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll to be close to her medical treatments.
Rosy was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning and also raised lots of chickens over the years. She was a willing babysitter for her grandchildren. Rosy was a member of Annunciation Parish in Coon Rapids.
For the past several years, Rosy suffered numerous health problems and was in and out of the hospital. She died on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at St. Anthony Nursing Home at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; daughter-in-law Judi Jo Knobbe; and siblings Leonard Brincks, Bernadine Rust, Agatha Hackfort, Bernilda Seidl and Donald Brincks.
She is survived by her four children: Jim Knobbe (Carol) of Coon Rapids; Kathleen McAlister (Monte) of Bayard; Joe Knobbe (Jerry) of Coon Rapids and Karen Eslick (Dan) of Bagley; 17 grandchildren Autumn Miller, Bobbi Jo Tunning, Matthew Knobbe, Aaron Kenyon, Angie McAlister, Heather Badding, Bret McAlister, Nathan McAlister, Rusty Janssen, Misty Lincoln, Holly Knobbe, Tony Knobbe, Andy Knobbe, Sarah Eslick, Monica Eslick, Dannie Ann Eslick and Austin Eslick; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Melvina Hahn of Carroll and Delores Kasperbauer (Delbert) of Carroll; brother Alphonse Bud?
