Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Willey, Iowa for Robert and Bette Hansman of Mesa, AZ. Robert Joseph, son of John and Rose Hansman, was born February 1, 1923 in the wonderful town of Willey, Iowa. Robert worked as a Greyhound bus driver for over 35 years. He was a devout Catholic all his life and member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 60 years. He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Mesa and was a 10 gallon blood donor. Robert was a devoted husband to his wife Bette for 48 years. He died May 2, 2015 in Mesa at the age of 92 years. Bette Lorraine, daughter of John and Gladys Doidge, was born September 7, 1936 in Dow City, Iowa. She worked as a registered nurse for many years, a loving mother, and was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Mesa. Bette died February 25, 2007 at the age of 70 years. Robert and Bette are survived by their sons Robert Hansman, Jr. (Linda) of Mesa, AZ and Mark Hansman (Yvonne) of Aberdeen, NC; granddaughter Becca; Robert's sisters Phyllis Sibenaller, Arlene Behrens (Donnie) and Margaret Behrens (Jimmy); Bette's brother John Doidge (Rita); other relatives and friends.
