    Rita, daughter of Bernard and Julia (Meicheid) Kennebeck was born February 20, 1918 in Carroll, Iowa.  She died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Carroll Health Center in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 90.  She attended Holy Angels School in Roselle, Iowa.

    Rita was married to Leonard A. Gute on December 29, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Carroll by Msgr. P.T. Lynch.  She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and Womens Guild.  She worked at St. Anthony Hospital for 41 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the geese at Swan Lake in Carroll and playing solitaire.

    Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard in 1982; brothers: Joe, Bill, Ed, and Albert Kennebeck; sisters: Mayme Masching, Mathilda Hoffman, Martha Hoffman, Emma Kraus, and Rose Gute.

    Rita is survived by a sister Margaret Brincks of Carroll, a sister-in-law: Vera Gute of Glidden and many nieces and nephews.
