Raymond "Tom" Lingle

A Celebration of Life for 69 year old Tom Lingle of Manilla will be held from 1 PM to 3 PM on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Manilla Rough Riders Arena in Manilla. Tom died unexpectedly on Thursday evening, December 17, 2020 at his home near Manilla. Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Thomas Lingle, son of Ramon and Josephine (Boeck) Lingle, was born May 8, 1951, in Denison, Iowa. He grew up in Manilla and graduated from Manilla High School in 1969.
On November 1, 1975, Tom was united in marriage with Debra Waterbury at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. Two children were born to this union. Tom and Deb made their home on an acreage northeast of Manilla. For more than 40 years, he was employed by IBP/Tyson in Denison.
Tom was an active member of the Rough Riders saddle club. He loved the trail rides, and assisted with many of the club's activities. He enjoyed traveling to Wyoming and Colorado several years with friends to hunt. He often helped on the family farm, and continued to help his brother Kevin on the farm. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, playing cards and gardening. He knew someone everywhere he went. Tom was very ornery and had a keen sense of humor. He found the good in all situations and was always willing to help. Tom truly valued family and friendships. He cherished time with his kids and grandkids, and would spend many hours on the phone talking to friends and family.
On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Tom passed away unexpectedly at his home near Manilla, Iowa. He was 69 years, 7 months and 9 days of age.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Josephine Lingle; grandparents: Alfred and Mary (Knott) Boeck and Alfred and Edith (Darling) Lingle; and a brother-in-law Tim Waterbury.
He is survived by his wife Deb Lingle of Manilla; son Cody Lingle and wife Kelsi of Harlan; daughter Renae Rowley and husband Yuri of Manning; granddaughter Savannah Rowley of Boone; grandson Davin Rowley of Manning; siblings: Connie (Darrell) Buzzell of Ogden; Nancy (Steve) Kremin of Manilla; Rodney Lingle of Buck Grove; Kevin Lingle of Manilla; Keith (Donna) Lingle of North Platte, Missouri; Denis (Traci) Lingle of Decatur, Nebraska; Leonard (Paulette) Lingle of Aspinwall; sister-in-law Vicki Waterbury (Dennis Friedman); and by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
