Raymond, son of Henry and Anna (Behrens) Sibbel was born Januray 2, 1923 in Roselle, Iowa. He died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Anthony Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Raymond attended school at Holy Angels in Roselle, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy. Raymond was married on February 8, 1949 to Florita Riesberg at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton, Iowa by Fr. Schultes. Raymond was born and farmed on the home farm in the Roselle area for 75 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and Mens Club, the Beef and Pork Producers. He was an avid supporter of soil conservation, a former member of the Holy Angels Mens Club, and a former vice president of the Kuemper High School Parents Club. Raymond was preceded in death his parents; brother Melvin Sibbel; sisters Rita and Florence Sibbel; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Leonard Riesberg, Irvin Riesberg, Lavern Riesberg, Earl Riesberg, and Dorothy Halbur. Raymond is survived by his wife Florita of Carroll; children: Betty Ferneding and husband Lonnie of Manning, Iowa, Glenn Sibbel and wife Pam of Ames, Iowa, Judy Braddock and husband Gene of Osceola, Iowa, Tom Sibbel and wife Therese of Willey, Iowa, and Ron Sibbel and wife Renee of Vail, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister Marian Golwitzer of Carroll; sister-in-law Leona Sibbel of Carroll; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Catherine Vogl of Carroll, Joe Riesberg and wife Karen of Atlantic, Iowa, John Sibbel and wife Margy of Halbur, Iowa Bernice Schroeder of Oto, Iowa and Leon Riesberg and wife Marlene of Florence, Arizona.
