     Raymond, son of Clarence and Mary (Gilligan) Goreham was born December 6, 1921 at Ida Grove, Iowa.  Raymond died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at St. Anthony Hospital at the age of 86. 

     Raymond graduated from Carroll High School and entered the Army in September 1942.  He was a TEC 4 as a surgical technician and served in Northern France, Ardennes and the Rhineland and was honorably discharged in December 1945.  He was united in marriage to Alice Roth on April 5, 1948 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll by Fr. Lambert Schenkelberg.  The celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 5, 2008.

     He worked for Omaha Cold Storage in Carroll from 1945-1948; a laundry service in Portland, Oregon from 1948-1951; the Deluxe Cleaners and Launders in Carroll from 1951 until the 1970s.  He then worked for Trausch Refrigeration until retiring at the age of 82.  Ray was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Carroll American Legion Post #7.  He was a coin collector, and model train enthusiast and a World War II buff.

     Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Raymond and Dean Goreham; twin daughters: Mary and Ann Goreham; and a sister Ellen Bennet

     Raymond is survived by his wife Alice of Carroll; children: Linda Beeson her husband Bob of Riverside, Iowa, Dian  Slaven and her husband Stan of Portsmouth, Iowa, Michael Goreham and wife Deb of Manhattan, Kansas, Paula McCrea and husband Mark of Carroll, Judy Lovrien and husband Marty of Alexandria, Minnesota, Lee Goreham and wife Bonnie of Clare, Iowa, Angela Weck and husband Shawn of Peoria, Illinois,  Amy Goreham of Carroll, Dave Goreham and wife Kelly of Waterloo, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother Lawrence Goreham and wife Elly of Springfield, Missouri.
