Patricia "Pat" Stahl

Patricia Ann (Birks) Grau Stahl, daughter of Ivan and Carrie (Case) Birks was born September 12, 1939, at Manilla, Iowa. She attended school in Manilla graduating with the class of 1957. Pat then worked at an insurance company in Omaha, NE.

On June 21, 1959 Pat was united in marriage with Emil D. Grau, at the Church of Christ in Irwin. This union was blessed with three children: Debra, Lonnie and Bruce. The couple farmed in the Manning area until 1972 when Emil's health declined and they moved into Manning. After Emil passed away on May 31, 1973, Pat remained in their home and lovingly cared for her children. For many years, Pat worked in the dietary department at Manning General Hospital, retiring in 2002.

On February 10, 1999, Pat was united in marriage with Labert A. "Bud" Stahl, also a widower, at their home in Manning. Pat and Bud enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. Bud died September 13, 2002. Pat developed close relationships with her coworkers and enjoyed the time spent with them. She was a nice, gentle, sweet and kind woman who cherished the time with her children and siblings. A fan of Nebraska football and Tiger Woods, Pat watched all kinds of sports and liked to follow politics.

In February of 2020, Pat moved into Manning Senior Living where she enjoyed her stay, being able to mingle and visit. In July of 2022, as Pat's health began to fail, she entered Accura Healthcare of Manning, where she passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by both her husbands, Emil Grau and Bud Stahl; and a sister Judy Zimmerman.

Pat is survived by her children: Debra Grau of Manning; Lonnie Grau and wife Julie of Manning; and Bruce Grau (Corinna Mejia) of Burlington, WA; sister Barbara and husband Terry Burgin of Santa Ana, CA; brother Larry Birks and wife Carma of Manilla; brother-in-law Al Zimmerman of Reliance, SD; and sisters-in-law: Louise Troeh of Chicago, IL; Carol Grau of Lawton and Ann Grau of Manning; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
