Pat attended school for one year before the family moved to Florida. They then moved to Illinois where she graduated from Petersburg Harris High School in 1942. The couple made their home in Peoria, IL and Pat worked for Armour & Co for several years. In 1955 they moved to St. Paul, MN where Pat worked as a secretary at the St. Paul Pioneer Press Newspaper and later worked as the assistant to the president of the 3M Corporation. Pat and Bernard retired from 3M in 1989. Upon their retirement Pat and Bernie moved to Arkansas and then Illinois, where Bernard died in 1993.
