Patricia Ann Clipperton

Memorial services for Patricia Clipperton, age 65, of Bayard, will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Christ in Bayard with Pastor Bob Rogers officiating.  Burial at Union Township Cemetery in Coon Rapids.  There is no visitation.  Ohde Funeral Home is in Bayard in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Ann, daughter of Dean and Diane (Imler) Clipperton, was born October 12, 1952, in Manning, Iowa. She grew up in Bayard and graduated from Bayard High School in 1972. Patty was a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Bayard Care Center for 30 years and then at New Hope Village in Carroll until retiring in 2013.

Patty was a member of the Bayard Church of Christ. She was a very caring, loving person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved being around people and seemed to know everyone, always keeping in contact with her friends. Patty loved her nieces and nephews dearly and enjoyed reading, walking, shopping, going out to eat, and loving her dog Snowflake. She had a smile that would light up a room and Patty left everyone she met with a smile on their face.

Patty experienced a decline in health and in September of 2017 became a resident of Regency Park Nursing Home in Jefferson, Iowa, where she passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, after breaking her hip the previous week. She was 65 years old.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents Wilbur and Elsie; her father Dean Clipperton; a sister Jerri Fitzsimmons; niece Shannon Riddle; nephew Ryan Clipperton; great niece Brianna Esslinger; great nephew Cameron Millard; and two brothers-in-law Don Esslinger and Dick Anderson.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother Diane Clipperton of Bayard; siblings Karen Esslinger of Bayard, Gary Clipperton of Bayard, Larry (Dathel) Clipperton of Pauls Valley, OK, Elaine Anderson of Coon Rapids, Debbie (Ron) Gustoff of Bayard, Randy (Sandy) Clipperton of Bayard and Cindy (Randy) Monthei of Jefferson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
