Naomi Ruth Pedersen

Naomi Ruth, daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Nelson) Larson, was born June 5, 1932 at Hamlin, Iowa. She grew up in Coon Rapids and attended school there. On September 18, 1950, Naomi was united in marriage with Donald Eugene Pedersen at Harlan. The couple made their home in Coon Rapids. Besides raising her children, Naomi worked beside her husband at the family business Don's DX and later T & D Standard, both in Coon Rapids. In 2007, Naomi retired after 40 years in the business. Naomi was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Naomi worked especially hard to make the holidays a very special time for her whole family. In the fall of 2007, Naomi moved to the Thomas Rest Haven nursing home in Coon Rapids. After losing her beloved husband Don in January, she died there on Friday, December 17, 2010. She was 78 years, 6 months and 12 days of age. Naomi is preceded in death by her father Lawrence Larson; husband Don Pedersen and sister Irene Hoisington. She is survived by daughter Terri and husband Doug Bock of Carroll; son Tim Pedersen and wife Mary Jo of Coon Rapids; 7 grandchildren: Jason Bock and wife Kristi, Mathew Bock, Tyler Bock, Dawn and husband Wes Jones, Bobbie Jo Pedersen, Logan Pedersen, and Collin Pedersen; 4 great-grandchildren: Jonathan Jones, Janae Jones, Alexis Ouderkirk and Avery Lynn Bock; mother Gladys Larson of Coon Rapids; 2 brothers-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
