Naomi Lucille, daughter of Wilson C. and Lucile K. (Kinnick) Herron, was born November 26, 1925, on the family farm in Guthrie County, IA. She attended rural school near her home and then attended Coon Rapids Schools. After completing her schooling, Naomi worked at a military plant in Omaha, NE, during war time. On August 11, 1945, Naomi was united in marriage with Robert E. Kepple in Carroll, IA. The family lived in Des Moines where their two children were born. In addition they raised as their own two nieces Linda Jones and Jane Rumph. In 1963 they moved to McGregor, IA. In addition to being a loving homemaker and mother, Naomi was secretary to her husband's business. After their retirement in 1991 they settled in Bayard. During the later years of their lives, Naomi and Robert wintered in Florida and Texas. Naomi enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, crocheting, sewing, water sports and bowling. During her retirement she learned to golf and pursued the sport with enthusiasm. In fact, there was nothing she wouldn't try at least once. Naomi's husband Robert died in 2003 and she continued to live in their home in Bayard. As her health started to fail she maintained her independence until December of 2012 when she entered St Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. She died there after a courageous battle on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the age of 87 years and 18 days. Preceding her in death are her parents; son, Van Wilson Kepple at one month of age; brothers Donald Herron, Duane Herron, Wilson Herron Jr. and Wilbur (Pauline) Herron; sisters Margaret (Everett) Nelson, Pauline (Clayton) Roller, Shirley (Lyle) Sievers, Geneva (Gene) Crouch and Genevieve (Gene) Hilgenberg. Naomi is survived by her daughter Joyce (Ron) White of Bayard; nieces Linda Jones of McGregor and Jane (Ron) Rumph of Earlham; grandson Dwayne Jagerson; step grandchildren Jon White and Melody Ramirez and her son, Dakota; grandchildren Tom (Carrie) Jones, Tammy (Lee) Christensen, Ted (Kristi) Rumpf and James (Sara) Rumph; as well as many great grandchildren; sister in law Mildred Herron of Bayard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private Family Funeral Service will be held at Ohde Funeral Home in Bayard with PASTOR CHARLENE WOLFE,UNITED METHODIST CHURCH,BAYARD, IOWA presiding. Interment will be AT A LATER DATE in HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP CEMETERY SOUTH OF BAYARD, IOWA
