Nancy Faye, daughter of Roy and Clarice (Flowers) Golay, was born November 9, 1935, at Huxley, Iowa.  She attended school in Huxley until the fifth grade when her parents and family moved to Coon Rapids.  Nancy continued school there through eleventh grade, when she left school to help with the familys finances.  She worked for Armours Creamery for many years.

On June 17, 1962, Nancy was united in marriage with Everett Johnson.  Three children were born to this union.  Their first child, daughter Claire Leone, died in infancy.  In addition to raising their two sons, Nancy worked on the farm south of Coon Rapids.  Since 1981 she also worked at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids, most recently as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Nancy was an avid reader, enjoying mystery, adventure and religious works.  She tended to her garden with many flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and a strawberry patch.

Following an automobile accident south of Coon Rapids, Nancy died on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the age of 73 years and 10 days.

Nancy is survived by two sons Johnny Johnson and Joeseph Johnson and wife Terri of Audubon; four grandchildren: Joshua, Jessica, Erica and Myles Johnson; two brothers Charles Golay and wife Millie of Coon Rapids and James Golay and wife Carmen of La Marida, CA; three sisters: Marie Wall of Kellogg; Elaine Kay and husband Jerry Yager of Coon Rapids; Marilyn and husband Gary Carpenter of Coon Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
