Mildred Wetterling

Mildred Wetterling, age 92, of Carroll died this morning Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa.  There will be no visitation and a funeral ceremony will be held privately by the family at a later date.

The Ohde Twit Funeral Home in Carroll is in charge of arrangements.

   Mildred was born July 20, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Anna (Juricek) Havlik.  She graduated from Britt High School in Britt, Iowa and attended business school for one year.    She was married to Luverne Wetterling on October 15, 1940 in Garner, Iowa.  Mildred and her husband owned and operated a floral shop in Osceola, Iowa for 25 years.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Carroll.     Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband Luverne; sisters Anna Sobek, Elizabeth Tegimeyer, and Evelyn Christians; and brother John Havlik.                      Mildred is survived by daughters Lynda L. Dorweiler of Carroll, Iowa, Dixi A. Carrillo of Oakland, California, and Lea W. Tuck & husband Jim of Flagstaff, Arizona; grandchildren Paul Tuck, Will Tuck, Ave Carillo, Matthew Dorweiler, and Valerie Johnson; and great grandchildren Zane Johnson and Alexzander Johnson.
