Mike Wurr

Michael Dennis, son of Dennis and Sandra (Stangl) Wurr, was born August 20, 1969, at Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in the Coon Rapids area and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1988. Mike was united in marriage with Denise Kraft in 1990 and two sons were born to this union. Mike worked for the Garst-Greenwald ranch cattle operation and also worked spraying for Garst and Co. in Coon Rapids. He then worked as a mobile service technician for Davis Equipment in Johnston. Mike moved to Fargo, ND, where he sold and serviced sprayers for Loral Ag. In 2000 he began working for himself restoring and painting tractors. Mike also worked part-time for Huegerich farms near Breda and Gary Fell's farm and livestock operation. Mike was a member of Annunciation Church in Coon Rapids. While he was hard-working and a perfectionist, Mike always had fun visiting with friends new and old. Since the time he was twelve years old, Mike was a tractor pull fanatic and loved to share this passion with his Dad. He enjoyed moto-cross and fishing with his sons - keeping a worm farm just for that purpose. Due to his quiet nature Mike was nicknamed "Mouse," though he was very intelligent and could fix anything. For the past few years Mike had cardiac health issues, including suffering a stroke. However he died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, IA. Mike was 44 years, 11 months and 22 days old. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Alver and Irma Stangl and Emil and Frances Wurr. Mike is survived by his sons Justin Wurr of Pleasant Hill and Colten Wurr of Coon Rapids; parents Dennis and Sandra Wurr of Coon Rapids; brother Jaimie Wurr (Doris) of Bayard; sister Julie Ayers (Mike) of Des Moines; sister Sheila Wurr and special friend Adam Huff of Glidden; nieces and nephews: Jaimie's children - Sarah Sloss, Jessica Wurr and special friend Nate Lowe, and Dillon Wurr; Julie's children - Ashley Ayers, Chase Ayers and Michaela Henriksen (Tim); other relatives and many friends.
