Maurice Henkelman

Maurice Anthony, son of Donald D. and Anna Marie (Wiese) Henkelman, was born July 19, 1964, in Iowa City, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in Manilla.

Maurice worked for a number of companies, mostly driving truck for Boyer Valley Rendering, Ten Point Construction, G & T, Erlbachers and Bedrock. He loved to hunt, shoot, fish, go to NASCAR races, cook, dance in the kitchen and spend time with his friends and family.

On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Maurice passed away at his home in Manilla, following a brief illness. He was 58 years, 10 months and 11 days of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Morelle Henkelman.

Maurice is survived by his siblings: Don (Jan) Henkelman of Dow City; Sandy Williams of Eagle Point, Oregon; Dale Henkelman and significant other Lisa Gadzinski of Dow City; Maurice's significant other Linda Weeks of Manilla, and her children Stacie Schaefer; Justin (Shauna) Weeks, and Jamie (Nate) Stocker; and her six grandchildren; his nieces and nephews: Scott Henkelman, Jenniffer Lesher, Eric Williams, Melissa Riesberg, Rebecca Davis, Sarah Riesberg and Tyler Riesberg; an uncle, Darrell Wiese of Manning; and by other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Reception was held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, starting at Noon and continuing through the afternoon, at Schramm Park in Manilla.
