Mary Patricia (Pat), daughter of Charles A. and Florence Leona (Murphy) Daley was born on December 5, 1927, in Carroll, Iowa. She attended St. Joseph's Grade School in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1946. In the fall of 1946, she began studying at Omaha Business College. In 1947, Pat returned to Carroll where she worked for Heider Manufacturing. On April 10, 1950, Pat was united in marriage with Ido J. Pollastrini at St. Joseph Church in Carroll, Iowa. They were the parents of two daughters and made their home in Carroll. In addition to caring for her daughters, Pat worked at the Carroll Candy Kitchen until the early 1970s. Pat then began working for the Greteman Agency in Carroll until her semiretirement in 1992. She then worked for Carroll County State Bank. Pat was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and in her spare time she loved to sew, quilt and bake. Pat's favorite hobby was walking, especially on the Sauk Rail Trail through Carroll. Her passion for walking every day took her to many competitive walking races, often winning her age group. Pat lived an astonishingly healthy and active life until becoming ill on October 2, 2009. On March 2, 2010, Pat died at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll at the age of 82 years 2 months and 25 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ido in 2006 and her sister Kathleen Ann Willett. Pat is survived by her daughters: Nancy and husband John Danico of Davenport, Iowa, and Barbara and husband Dr. Craig Farson of Berthoud, Colorado; granddaughters: Jennifer C. Danico and Christina N. and husband Kevin Morrison; great-granddaughter Elaina; brother Bernard P. Daley of Dayton, Wyoming; brother-in-law Earl D.
