Mary Ann, daughter of Hosmer and Kathern (Loghry) Evison, was born December 2, 1943 in East River Township near Clarinda, Iowa. As a young girl she moved with her family to Des Moines where she attended school and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. She continued her education at Area Eleven Community College in Boone earning her Medical Aide Certificate. Mary Ann was the mother of two daughters. The family lived in Madrid and Jamaica. Mary Ann worked at Woodward State Hospital for fifteen years. On February 24, 1999, she was united in marriage with Don Clipperton. They made their home in Bagley and, after retiring, moved to Missouri. Eventually Mary Ann and Don moved back to Iowa, settling in Perry. Her husband Don died at home in Perry on February 24, 2012. In her spare time, Mary Ann loved anything to do with the outdoors, particularly camping and fishing. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. When her health began to fail, she moved to Madrid to be closer to her sister. Mary Ann died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Dallas County Hospital, Perry, Iowa at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 11 days. Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters Dorothy Stegman and Gladys Burgess and one brother Ronald Evison. Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters Diane Marie (Perry) Kramer of Plainfield and Susan Linn Johnson of Readlyn; two step daughters Monica (Danny) Woody of Perry and Sherri (Jerry) Yates of Earlham; seven grandchildren Jamie Lynn, Kristopher, Nathanell, Bethany, Mary Anna, Josha and Shelby; two sisters Phyllis (Jim) Belger of Madrid and Rowena (Dennis) Hutchenson of Lucas; one brother Richard Evison of California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is planning no services at this time.
