Marjorie’s Grandchildren

     Marjorie Ann, daughter of Ruvilla and Verna (Stammer) Rowedder, was born August 16, 1932, in Hayes Township, Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized on November 10, 1935 at the First Presbyterian Church in Manning. Marge graduated from Manning High School in 1950. She then worked as a bookkeeper at Kuhl & Vogt Hardware for two years.

     On June 24, 1952, Marge was united in marriage with Dean Herbert Stribe at the First Presbyterian Church in Manning. Two sons were born to this couple. Marge and Dean enjoyed farming north of Manning for 38 years, until Dean’s death in 1990. Marjorie then made her home at 62 Ann Street in Manning.

     Marge was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Manning and was active with the Presbyterian Women’s Organization. She was an active member and past-president of the Homemaker’s Club. Marge enjoyed being a homemaker and mother and following her sons’ and grandchildren’s activities and sports. For many years, she enjoyed going to the family cabin at Black Hawk Lake and fishing.

   On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Marge passed away at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Carroll, Iowa. She was 87 years, 9 months and 17 days of age.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Dean,  mother in 1996, father in 2003, brother David Rowedder in 1993, father-in-law Herbert Stribe in 1980, mother-in-law Regilda Stribe in 1995, and a sister-in-law Carol Rowedder in 2007.

      Marge is survived by two sons Curtis Dean Stribe and wife Caryl of Manning and Keith Dale Stribe and wife Mary Jane of Carroll; Six grandchildren: Nolan Stribe and wife Nicole of Polk City; Sara VanderSanden and husband Luke of Runnells; Landon Stribe and wife Pearl of Prescott, Arizona; Kelsey Severson and husband Jeremy of Madrid; Heather Stribe of Breda, and Kyle Stribe and wife Sara of Ankeny; great-grandchildren: Kadyn, Toryn, Jevyn and Mailyn Severson; Gaige Lerssen; Tatum Stribe; Madeline, Nile and Harper Stribe; Mara VanderSanden, Samuel and Avalon Stribe; Brothers: Dale Rowedder and wife Deon of Carroll; Danny Rowedder of Carroll; Brother-in-law Lowell Stribe of Manning; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
