Marcella M., daughter of Joseph and Mayme A. (Heiman) Pudenz was born on July 25, 1914 on the family farm in Carroll County, Iowa. She attended and graduated from St. Angela's Academy in Carroll. On September 1, 1938 Marcella was united in marriage with Alton J. Danner at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City. Marcella worked as a homemaker and the couple first made their home in Carroll before moving to Onawa. In 1945 they moved to Omaha, Nebraska there Marcella volunteered at the Children's Hospital and the VA Hospital. In 1983 the family moved to Wisconsin where Marcella served the community as a County General 4-H Leader. In 1983 the family moved to Spokane, Washington where they remained until they returned to Carroll in 1993. Marcella was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and the Ladies Guild. In August 2005, Marcella became a resident of the Carroll Health Center. On October 30, 2011 Marcella died there at the age of 97 years 5 months and 3 days. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alton in 2007; brothers John Pudenz and Erv Pudenz and sister Evelyn "Hap" and husband Robert Booth. She is survived by her son Robert Danner and wife Phyllis of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter Marcia and husband Robert Carlberg of Tacoma, Washington; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters in law: Claire Pudenz, Elaine Pudenz, Bonnie Danner and Betty Danner all of Carroll; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
