Marcella C Wenck

Marcella Wenck, daughter of Henry and Mary (Snyder) Underberg was born on February 10, 1915 in Larchwood, Iowa. The family later moved to the Mt. Carmel before settling in the Lidderdale area. After her schooling, Marcella remained at home where she helped with housework. On October 12, 1938 Marcella was united in marriage with Arthur J. Wenck at Maryhill Catholic Church near Cherokee by Rev. Joseph Underberg. The family made their home in the Lidderdale area until they moved to Carroll in 1960. Marcella was a member of Holy Spirit Church and enjoyed cooking and making sweets. After Arthur died in 1984, Marcella remained on her own until she became a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll in 2007. On September 26, 2011 Marcella died there at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 16 days. She was preceded in death by parents, husband; great-great-grandson Xavier Goodwin; brother Joe Underberg and wife Velma; sister Anna Underberg and son-in-law Hank Riesselman. Marcella is survived by her children: Don Wenck and wife Marilyn of Carroll; Linda Riesselman of Omaha; Dale Wenck and wife Myrna of Omaha and Judy and husband Chuck Rademacher of Grand Junction, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister Mary Underberg of Carroll; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
