Mandi June, daughter of William and Shona (Hagedorn) Weitl, was born May 17, 1983 at Carroll, Iowa. She grew up in Manning and attended Manning Schools, graduating with the Class of 2001. Following graduation, Mandi worked at the Graphic Edge in Breda. When the company moved to Carroll, she worked there for a total of about 10 years. Mandi was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manning.

On August 26, 2006 Mandi was united in marriage with Ryan Sandage of Audubon at the little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived and raised their family in Templeton. Mandi had retired at the birth of their second child.  She loved that she was able to be a stay at home mommy since.

She was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2014. After several surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation during which she remained optimistic, she continued to fight. The last couple of months her health really started to deteriorate even though she tried to hide it. She died at the home of her parents in Manning on Sunday morning, September 18, 2016 at the age of 33 years, 4 months and 1 day.

Preceding her in death are her grandfather Roger Hagedorn and grandparents Ray and Lorraine Weitl.

Mandi is survived by her husband Ryan Sandage of Templeton; children Mya and Skyler Sandage at home in Templeton; parents Bill and Shona Weitl of Manning; grandmother Deanna Hagedorn of Manning; two brothers Matt Weitl of Grimes and Billy Weitl of Manning; other relatives and friends.
