Madeleine Mary Hoover Forehand, neé Kracht, was born on December 24th, 1938 in Carroll, Iowa. Madeleine was the daughter of Clarence and Vera (Schelldorf) Kracht. She grew up on the farm in the Halbur area. On the farm she woke up early to tend to her chores such as slopping the pigs, which frustrated her when they would kick up mud on her pants. However, she loved the horses and enjoyed riding them bareback. Her family moved northwest of Coon Rapids when she was a teenager. She graduated from Coon Rapids High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the basketball team, in 1957. After graduating, Madeleine did secretarial work at the Garst & Thomas offices in Coon Rapids. On June 4th, 1961, Madeleine married her high school sweetheart, Gary Hoover. Madeleine and Gary went on to live in various cities across the US including Pittsburg, San Jose, Medfield, Mass., Buffalo, and Omaha. They have two Children, Michelle Fogle (55), and Eric Hoover (48). Madeleine was the kind of mother who did it all- she sewed clothes for Michelle, hosted joyous birthday parties, and attended all of Eric’s basketball and soccer games. Madeleine had a selfless, servant personality that made her an attentive mother. She took care of her daughter Michelle for 20 weeks while she was on bedrest, pregnant with triplets. In 1994, Madeleine moved to Houston, TX to be with her three new grandchildren Cooper, Claire and Abby, and their parents Michelle and Steve Fogle. Madeleine felt privileged to be able to live with the triplets and help take care of them from birth. She enjoyed taking the triplets on various day trips to the library, the mall, or the arboretum. In 2002, Madeleine married Paul Forehand of Tomball, TX. Madeleine and Paul shared a love of travel. They visited the Grand Canyon and the Blue Ridge Mountains. They even took a month-long road trip to visit Newfoundland where Paul was once stationed in the air force. Madeleine was heavily involved in the church wherever she lived, often doing secretarial work for the church. She grew up as a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod until she married and became a member of the Presbyterian Church. In Texas, Madeliene and Paul attended First Baptist Church of Tomball.
