Lynn Sporrer

May 6, 1959 — September 22, 2024

Lynn Charles Sporrer was born on May 6, 1959, the son of Lawrence and Mildred (Eich) Sporrer in Carroll, Iowa. He was the sixth of eight children and grew up on a farm one mile east of Manning. Lynn was baptized and later confirmed his faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manning. He attended Manning public schools and received his GED in March of 1979.

Lynn's roots ran deep in the farming industry as he contributed on the family farm most of his life. His passion for agriculture was complemented by over 15 years of work at Multi-Pig in Audubon, where he contributed to the local industry, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment. Throughout his youth, Lynn nurtured a special relationship with his horse, Little Joe, named after the beloved character from the classic television show Bonanza. Lynn held a great fondness for sports, especially during the fall season. He eagerly awaited the NFL games, sharing the excitement of each game. A loyal supporter, he enjoyed the vivacity of attending Kansas City Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium, where he could immerse himself in the thrill of the game alongside fellow fans. A lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lynn found solace in his faith. He looked forward to Sunday morning masses, embracing the opportunity to reflect and connect with his spirituality. Above all, he cherished spending time with family. Lynn really loved his favorite nephew (his only nephew), Noel Sporrer. Noel reciprocated that love for “Uncle Fun”.

Lynn passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 65 years, four months and 16 days.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Donna (Robert) Gaffney and Jennifer Sporrer; brother, Loran Sporrer; brother-in-law, Nolan Tillman; aunts and uncles: Lucy (Leo) Irlmeier, Helen (George) Eischeid, Evelyn (Adolph) Langel, Alvin (Marie) Eich, Ray (Thelma) Eich, Herbert Eich, Sally (Jerry) Schenkelberg, Sister Ricarda Eich, Inez (Bud) Ohlinger and Vernice (Alma) Sporrer.

Left to cherish his memory are his four siblings: Patricia Treinen (Richard) of Sioux City, Marilyn Tillman of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Alice Sporrer of Sioux City and Larry Sporrer (Gema) of New York; nieces and nephews: Theresa Treinen, Julie Treinen and Ray Tucker, Sarah (Rick) Rocha (Treinen), Bethany Cheatham, Noel (Becky) Sporrer; great-nieces and nephews: Kayla Treinen, Seth Hurlbert, Katlynn Tucker; Trent and Elizabeth Rocha; Tyson, Jace, and Elyse Cheatham; Cash, Kale, Talli and Lola Sporrer; great-great-nephew, Brenden Hurlbert; and three aunts: Kay Loughran of Breda, Dorothy Schon of Glidden and Evelyn Sporrer of Templeton.
