Louise A. Starman

Louise Anna, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Friedman) Haverman was born on May 20, 1910 at Roselle, Iowa. She grew up on a farm south of Roselle and attended Holy Angels School. After her schooling she remained at home to help care for her family and the farm. On January 29, 1935, Louise was united in marriage with John H. Starman at Holy Angels Church in Roselle. The couple made their home south of Roselle and Louise worked as a homemaker, helping care for the couple's six children. Louise was an active member and volunteer at Holy Angels Parish and with the Altar Society. In her spare time Louise loved to quilt, play cards, bake, and most importantly spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise was also a 4-H leader for many years. After her husband passed away in 1996, Louise remained in Roselle until she became a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll in December of 1999. On December 3, 2010 Louise died there at the age of 100 years, 6 months and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Joe, Bill and Lawrence Haverman and sister Margaret Hannasch. Louise is survived by her children LaVonne and husband Ed Berger of Lidderdale; Roman Starman of Roselle; Gerald Starman and wife Jealeen of Roselle; James Starman and wife Carol of Halbur; Pat and husband Larry Klocke of Audubon and Leon Starman of Roselle; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchidren; 4 step great-grandchildren; sister in law Mary Haverman of Carroll; brother in law Ted Starman of Carroll; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
