Louis Henry, son of Joseph and Molly (Reineke) Brincks was born on May 11, 1913 in Maple River, Iowa. He was a survivor of the 1918 tornado that devastated their farm in Maple River and claimed the lives of his father and brother. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul grade school in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School.

Louis was untied in marriage with Donnie Swart in 1941, before serving in World War II.   Louis and Donnie raised three children in Carroll. They were the greatest of parents, always with love, devotion and encouragement for their children and all others who had contact with them.

For 89 years, Louis lived in his beloved Carroll, serving residents at Louies News Stand on Fifth Street in downtown Carroll. Louies News Stand is no longer, a victim of urban renewal. Louis enjoyed his grandchildren, wood working and maintaining his lawn. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish.

In 2001, Louis moved to Winter Park Florida to be with his daughter Mary Martin. On June 10, 2009 he died there at the age of 96 years and 30 days.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donnie; grandsons Michael Conway and Jason Brincks; sisters: Anne Hoffman and Juletta Koester and brother Bernard Brincks.

He is survived by his son Richard Brincks and wife Cheryl of Crystal Lake, IL; daughters: Gloria and husband Mike Conway of North Port, FL and Mary and husband Bernard Martin of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren: Thomas Conway, Kathy Conway, B.J. Martin, Amanda Martin, Jackie Martin, Ryan Martin and Sarah Loy; 7 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
