Louella E. Kohorst

Louella Elsie, daughter of Adolph and Anna (Grimsman) Hinz Jr. was born on February 12, 1921 at Arcadia, Iowa. She attended school in Arcadia. On July 22, 1942 Louella was united in marriage with Vincent Kohorst at St. Mary's Church in Mapleton by Rev. A. H. Ocken. They made their home in Arcadia where Louella was a homemaker and helped her husband in the family operation of Kohorst Garage and in farming. Louella was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their events. After the death of her husband Vincent in 2002, Louella remained at her home in Arcadia until August 2011 when she became a resident of the Carroll Health Center. On August 29, 2011, she died there at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 17 days. Louella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vincent, daughter Linda Collison in 1992; brother Arlo Hinz and sister Lavine Druivenga. She is survived by her children: Elaine and husband Dr. John Kissel of Sioux City; Barbara and husband Ray Pille of Omaha and Marlan Kohorst and wife Tammy of Arcadia; son in law Phil Collison of Arcadia; 8 grandchildren; a great grandson; brother Lester Hinz of Iowa Falls; sister in law Bernice Hinz of Fonda; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
