     Leo J., son of Ed and Elisabeth (Skalla) Heim, was born October 6, 1913, at Auburn, Iowa.  He attended school in Auburn.  On April 30, 1935, Leo was united in marriage with Juliana Schulte at Auburn.

    For 17 years, Leo worked at the Creamery in Lytton.  He also worked at Nobles in Sac City for many years.  From 1972 until the time of his death, he owned and operated Sunshine Fruits in Auburn.

   Leo was a member of St. Marys Parish in Auburn.  Above all he loved to visit with family, customers and friends.  Leo also enjoyed gardening and playing pool and bingo.

    On December 28, 2007, Leo died unexpectedly at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 22 days.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Juliana Heim; daughters Marieta, Margie, Doreen and Mary Heim; brothers Marvin, Paul, Cletus and Harold Heim; sisters Bernice Schulte and Louise Theulen.

    Leo is survived by daughters Joanne Heim and husband Bill Barnes of Des Moines and Doris Monson of Lake View; sons Louis Heim of Concordia, MO; Roger Heim and wife Barb of Lenox; Denis Heim and wife Linda of Cerritos, CA; Kenny Heim and wife Dixie of Des Moines; James Heim of Lake Okoboji; Mike Heim and wife Betty of Aurora, CO; and Ron Heim of Auburn; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Ray Heim of Carroll; sister Evelyn Wolterman of Carroll; other relatives and friends.
