            Lee Bratten, son of Charles and Hilda (Elander) Bratten, was born July 19, 1922 in Brady, Nebraska.  He attended school in the Brady area and following high school went on to complete a year of business school.

            On May 1, 1976 he was united in marriage with Carmen Wilkeson at First United Methodist Church in Carroll, Iowa.  Lee spent his working life as an accountant and tax preparer.  Lee was a member of the Elks Chorus and the Barbershop Quartet.  He was also very active in the First United Methodist Church choir and spent over 60 years in the choir both in Carroll and in San Diego where he and Carmen moved in 1985.

           On December 20, 2007 Lee died at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California after suffering a stroke.   

            He was preceded in death by his parents; step daughter Roseann de la Vega; step son Daniel de la Vega; sisters Julie Lange, Louise Anderson, and Venlda Johnson; brothers Paul Bratten, Joseph Bratten, Gideon Bratten, and Herman Bratten.

            Lee is survived by his wife Carman Bratten of San Diego, California; step daughter Mary Rice and husband Dennis of Rockport, Missouri; step grandchildren Jason Moser, Kyle Rice and Austin Rice;  brother David Bratten and wife Vivian of St. Petersburg, Florida, other relatives and friends.
