    Le Roy William, son of John and Ella (Mordhorst) Rowedder was born June, 28, 1924 at Manning, Iowa.  He attended country school and graduated from Manning High School. On January 13, 1946, Le Roy was united in marriage with Winona Jochimsen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Armys occupation of Korea. In 1947 he was discharged and moved to Omaha where he worked for Parker and Gallagher Sporting Goods.

     In 1948 he returned to Manning where he worked on various farms until 1971. Le Roy then worked in construction for several years before joining Puck Implement in Manning, working in the parts department for 16 years. In 2000 Winona passed away and Le Roy remained in Manning.

    On February 16, 2002 he was united in marriage with Delores (Aschinger) Wright at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning and the couple made their home in Manning.

    Le Roy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, playing cards, dancing, volunteering at the Manning Heritage Farm, and spending time with family. He was a member of the VFW and Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as a past elder and in various offices.

    Le Roy became ill in October of 2008 and later became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. He died there on May 2, 2009 at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 4 days.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Winona; brothers: Leonard, Virgil and Gilbert Rowedder and sister Berdine Ehrichs.

    Le Roy is survived by his wife Delores Rowedder of Manning; children Douglas Rowedder and wife Lola of Denison and Linda and husband Joseph Stroeher of Elk Horn; grandchildren Derek Rowedder, Lacey Rowedder, Jeramy Kuhn and wife Karen and Jessi and husband Tim Wagoner; 5 great-grandchildren; sister JoAnn and husband Russ Mohr of Manning; sister-in-law Ethel Rowedder of Irvine, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
