Larry Farley

Larry Dean Farley, son of Lloyd E. and Florence W. (Schraiter) Farley, was born November 29, 1936, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up at Manilla and graduated from Manilla High School in 1956.

On June 29, 1958, Larry was united in marriage with Adella H.M. Maas at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. The couple made their home in Manilla all their married life.

Larry worked for Reid's Feed Company for three years and then as a carpenter for Rasmussen Lumber Company for the next 39 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing and hunting.

On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, Larry passed away at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 2 days.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Virgil (Joan) Farley, Ron Farley and Bob (Bonnie) Farley; a sister Berdella (Merle) Anthony; a step-brother Clarence Farley; a step-sister Evelyn (Clarence) Ingram; two nieces: Arlene Anthony and Joyce Farley; Adella's parents Earlin and Caroline Ewoldt; Adella's step-siblings: Howard, Irene and Earl Ewoldt.

He is survived by his wife Adella Farley of Manilla; a sister-in-law Jean Farley of Aplington; Adella's Step-brothers-in-law: Delbert Ewoldt of Council Bluffs and Joe (Penny) Ewoldt of Vail; and by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Manilla, Iowa.

Interment At A Later Date at Nishnabotna Cemetery, Manilla, Iowa.
