Ken Lux

Kenneth George, son of John and Mary (Schumacher) Lux, was born August 28, 1951, at Carroll, Iowa. He attended Holy Family grade school in Lidderdale and Kuemper High School in Carroll. Ken was united in marriage with Peggy Branning on May 26, 1979, at Peggy's parents' house in Arcadia. Ken held various jobs in the Carroll area. He worked in lawn care for Jim Strautman and Stan Daiker and most recently worked for ten years for Schroeder's Siding. Ken was a member of Holy Spirit parish in Carroll. He loved to hunt and fish with his friends. Ken's family will remember him as a kind, hard-working and loyal man. In May of this year Ken was diagnosed with cancer and continued to fight it and go to work up until a week before his death. He died on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at home in Carroll, Iowa. Ken was 61 years and 2 days of age. He is preceded in death by his daughter Julie Ann Lux in 1997; his parents; sister Mary Ann Lux; and father-in-law Arthur Branning. Ken is survived by his wife Peggy Lux of Carroll, daughter Jenny Vote (Mitch) of Paton; three grandchildren: Madison, Jacie and Landon; sister Ruth Lux of Lidderdale; mother-in-law Bernice Branning of Manning; other relatives and friends.
