Keith Eugene, son of William and Audrey (Schaeffer) Lee, was born September 1, 1934 in Coon Rapids, Iowa. He lived with his family and grew up on farms in the Coon Rapids area. In 1952 Keith enlisted into the United States Air Force. He worked in aircraft maintenance for fighter-bomber squadrons. On September 6, 1958 Keith was united in marriage with Patsy Jo French at Spokane, WA where he was stationed with the Air Force. They were the parents of five children and lived on various bases during his twenty years in the service. After his honorable discharge in 1972 the family moved back to the Spokane area where Keith worked, attended school for accounting and raised his family. Over the next years, the family again lived in several states including Ohio where he worked for General Dynamics writing technical repair manuals. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Company in Washington and eventually retired from Boeing in Philadelphia, PA in 1995. He and Patsy and their family moved to Keith's hometown of Coon Rapids, IA. In his younger years, Keith had a passion for model airplanes. In addition to his hobbies of fishing, reading and caring for his yard in later years, he was very active in the community. He served on the City Council and was active in the American Legion as well as other volunteer activities. Keith's health began to fail early in 2013. His wife died February 20, 2013 and Keith was eventually diagnosed with lung cancer. He was able to remain at home with the loving care of his family. Keith died peacefully at home in Coon Rapids on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 10 days. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife; sister Linda (John) Bloodsworth and brother in law Bud Winker. He is survived by his five children: Randy Lee (DeAnna) of Renton, WA, Jamie Lee-Fetchtner (Bill) of Centralia, WA, Steve Lee (Glenda) of Enumclaw, WA, Kelly Lee of Coon Rapids and Kris Lee (Julia) of Coon Rapids; four grandchildren: Jesse Lee, Chelsey Lee, Jake Baker and Zach Baker; two sisters Carolyn Lloyd (Jim) of Carroll and Sharon Winker of Clayton, OK; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
