Kari Bohnenkamp Jones

Kari Lynn, daughter of Krysti Bohnenkamp, was born December 26, 1969 in Carroll, Iowa. She lived in several communities in Iowa and attended school wherever she was living. She graduated from Milford High School in 1988. Kari worked as a waitress in many different areas of Iowa. She loved living in Okoboji with her grandparents. While living in Carroll, she attended Des Moines Area Community College, earning Dean's List honors. On September 17, 2009, Kari was united in marriage with Charles Jones in Denison where they had met. Shortly thereafter they moved to Okoboji, a very important community for Kari. She was primarily a homemaker. While in high school Kari played volleyball and basketball earning All-Conference Honors. She enjoyed all sports and played sand volleyball after high school. Kari also loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. Of utmost importance to Kari were her two children Britney and Jacob. She also expressed her love of children by her interaction with Chuck's grandchildren. Kari suffered major injuries in her home in Okoboji and was cared for at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. She died there on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the age of 43 years, 4 months and 23 days. Preceding Kari in death are her grandparents Merrill and Angie Bohnenkamp who were a very important part of her life; brother Bryan Julich and uncle Ronnie Zavitz. She is survived by her loving husband Chuck Jones of Okoboji; two children Britney Bohnenkamp of Arcadia and Jacob Kovacevich of Ankeny; mother Krysti Bohnenkamp of Denison; siblings Staci (Steve) Albert of Le Mars, Kelli Tech of Denison, Kayce (Lance) Britton of Sioux City, Aymi Julich of Sioux City; Mysti Julich of Sioux City; Kyle Tech of Denison and Kevin Tech of Denison; two uncles J. R. (Sheila) Bohnenkamp of Sioux Center and Dale (Ellen) Bohnenkamp of Spencer; three aunts: Lori (Mark) Anderson of Indiana, Tammy Stout of Carroll and Patty Brower of Carroll; many other relatives and friends.
