John Merrill Crandell

JOHN MERRILL CRANDELL John Merrill, son of Eugene and Mary (Beghtol) Crandell, was born May 22 1958 at Boone, Iowa. He attended school in Boone and graduated with the Class of 1977. John attended Park College in Parkville, MO for two years before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa where he received his B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology. While in college in Cedar Falls he became a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. John worked for many years at Quinn Wire and Iron Works in Boone. After relocating to Manning he worked at Plastico and later he worked for a temp service. In August of 2012 John was united in marriage with Lori Bruch at Jefferson. They made their home in Manning. John had not been well for several years and died at his home in Manning on October 3, 2014 at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 11 days. Preceding him in death are his parents; sister Shavon Amfahr and three siblings as infants Angel Crandell and twins Mark and Matthew Crandell. John is survived by his wife Lori Crandell of Manning; step daughter Beth Bruch of Carroll; siblings Anthony (Sandra) Crandell of Lamoni, Allan (Linda) Crandell of Boone, David (Barbara) Crandell of Paton, April (Roger) Franksain of Boone and Marvia (Jose') de Garrido of Spain; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
