Jeffrey LeRoy, son of Einer and Carol (Morton) Petersen was born April 4, 1962 in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from high school, Jeffrey attended junior college for two years in general studies and gemology. Jeffrey was united in marriage with Stacey Graff in January of 1993 and two daughters were born to this union. Jeffrey worked as a painter in the family business and enjoyed making jewelry in his spare time. Along with his family, he spent many wonderful hours camping and fishing. On January 19, 2002, two years after the birth of their second child, Stacey died. Their two children lived for a time with their grandparents Carol and Einer Petersen in Colorado. In January 2009 Jeffrey moved to Elk Horn, Iowa to be near family and his two daughters joined him. Jeffrey's health had been failing for about six months before he entered Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn one day before his death there on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 29 days. Preceding him in death are his father Einer, wife Stacey and grandparents. He is survived by his two daughters Erin and Tara Petersen of Elk Horn; mother Carol Petersen of Englewood, CO; brother DeLand Petersen of Englewood, CO; other relatives and friends.
