Jeanette Ann Jons

Jeanette Ann, daughter of John and Rose (Hoffman) Hackfort was born on January 14, 1924 on the family farm east of Roselle, Iowa. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul School in Carroll and then helped the family on the farm. Jeanette then began working in the physical therapy department at St. Anthony Hospital. On May 24, 1955 Jeanette was united in marriage with Victor J. Schumacher at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. In 1960, Victor died and Jeanette remained in Carroll where she again worked at St. Anthony Hospital. On July 28, 1965 Jeanette was united in marriage with Arlo E. Jons at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. The couple made their home near Westside where they farmed until their retirement in the early 1980's. Arlo died in 1988 and Jeanette remained in Carroll until she moved to McCook, Nebraska in 1993. In 1998 Jeanette moved to Omaha where she was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Jeanette had a great passion for tatting and she loved to share her projects and creations. She also loved crocheting and following news events and politics. In 2007 Jeanette became a resident of the Rose Blumkin Nursing Home in Omaha. On May 23, 2011 she died there at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 9 days. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers: Herman Hackfort and wife Stella and Lambert Hackfort and brother in law Paul Fasbender. She is her survived by her sister Mercedes Fasbender of Carroll; sister in law Rita Hackfort of Carroll, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
