Laura Jean, daughter of Marion Alonzo and Mary Arlene (MacDonald) Miller, was born on March 25, 1921 at Lewis, Iowa. The family moved to Audubon when she was 12 years old. After school Jean worked cleaning for families in the community.
On June 16, 1940, Jean was united in marriage with Clarence Remele at her parents home in Audubon. The family resided in Coon Rapids for 66 years. After Clarences death in 1978, Jean worked for a time at Thomas Rest Haven. Jean was a member of the First Christian Church in Coon Rapids and was active in the CWF and Builders Group. Her special talents were organizing funeral luncheons and making pies for the church food stand. Jean was a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Jean fought cancer and had ten years cancer-free?. After a brief stay at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa, she died there on September 5, 2009. She was 88 years, 5 months and 11 days of age.
