Jacquelyn "Jacci" Thomas

Jacquelyn Marie, daughter of Dr. John R. and Helen "Lynn" (D'Arcy) Fisher, was born July 23, 1954 in Buffalo, New York. Her family later moved to Clinton, Iowa where Jacci graduated from Clinton High School in 1972. She continued her education at the University of Iowa, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and met Mark Thomas. Jacci was united in marriage with Mark Thomas February 16, 1980 in Clinton, Iowa. One daughter, Helen "Nelli" Thomas, was born to this union. She later enrolled in DMACC and became a registered nurse in 1992. Jacci was an active member of the First United Methodist Church choir and PEO. She enjoyed flower gardening and won many Carroll County Fair awards for her roses. Jacci liked to golf, sew, sing, and was a voracious reader. She loved traveling, camping, and canoeing with her family. She is remembered by friends and family as an unconditionally loving person who was committed to caring for others. Though Jacci had good health for most of her life, she died unexpectedly at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center from a stroke at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother Helen Fisher. Jacci is survived by her husband Mark Thomas of Coon Rapids; daughter Helen "Nelli" (Brian Martucci) Thomas of Minneapolis, MN; father Dr. John R Fisher of Hockessin, DE; siblings Deborah (Tom) Merrifield of Douglasville, GA; Daniel (Karen) Fisher of Humble, TX; Paul (Beth) Fisher of Maple Grove, MN; J.R. Fisher of Atlanta, GA; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
