Howard Marius Juel was born to Hans Nielsen Juel and Esther Andersen Juel on October 15, 1926. He attended country school at Oakfield Township #4 in Audubon County, Iowa. He graduated from Elk Horn High School in 1944 and Coyne Electrical College in Chicago. He served in the Army Pacific Theater 1777 Construction Engineering and Military Government Team in Japan. Howard married Kaja Kaltoft in 1947. He served on the Kimballton City Council, the Elk Horn Kimballton School Board, Landmand's National Bank board and the Danish Immigrant Museum board. He was a founding member of the Progressive Danes. He enjoyed working with anything mechanical, electrical, electronics, woodworking, metal working and many miles on the motorcycle! Howard was married to Leona Gard in 2009. Howard was preceeded in death by Kaja, his mother, father and four year old sister, Lavon Mae. He is survived by his wife, Leona, daughters JoEllyn Juel Anderson (and husband, Gene) and Jacqueline Juel Conzemius (and husband, Steve), grandchildren Jennifer, Justin, Eric and Dana, two great-grandchildren, Brendan and Camden, sister Janice Jacobsen, sister/brother-in-laws include Oda Christensen, Paul Christensen, John and Phyllis Carr, Sharon and Larry Rock, Irene Nagel, Gordan and Doris Kinnison, Jerry and Carolyn Carr, Leona's son Clinton (Patricia) Gard and grandchildren Shayna and Brett as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews
