Henry Rudolph, son of Joseph V. and Anna (Drees) Schneider, was born October 9, 1919 at Roselle, Iowa. He grew up on the farm and attended rural school. He worked with his father on the farm after completing his schooling. The family moved to Missouri when he was a teenager, however Henry moved back to Carroll County after a couple years. He worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) for two winters at Springbrook Park and near Ute. On January 21, 1941 Henry was united in marriage with Elma Rohe at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. They made their home on Elma's family farm outside of Templeton and were the parents of one son. Henry was a farmer, raising crops, milk cows, stock cows and steers over the years. His family remembers his stock cows as his pride and joy. Henry was self-taught in many areas, building his own home and teaching his grandchildren and others various life skills. He was generous with his knowledge and full of patience. Henry served on many board of directors including a telephone company, school board, Halbur Coop and the Carroll County ASCS. He was an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Templeton and the Holy Name Men's Society. Henry and his wife enjoyed many years of playing cards with neighbors and friends. Henry's wife Elma died in February of 2011. Henry stayed in their home on the farm until October of 2013 when he became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. He died there on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 25 days. Preceding Henry in death are his parents; wife; and four brothers: George, Norbert, Larry and Joseph Schneider. Henry is survived by his son Gerald (Lavonne) Schneider of Carroll; six grandchildren: Jim (Tami) Schneider of Dallas, TX; June Nunn of Winterpark, FL; Janet (James) Kischer of Omaha, NE; Ron (Eldiza) Schneider of Manning; Dean (Jennifer) Schneider of Manning and Steve (Crystal) Schneider of Carroll; 19 great grandchildren; three brothers: Andrew (Rosalyn) Schneider of St. Charles, MO; Paul Schneider of Missouri and Arthur (Frieda) Schneider of Warrenton, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
