Helen C. Heithoff

January 8, 1916 — April 18, 2010

Helen Christine, daughter of John and Lena (Eich) Eischeid was born on January 8, 1916 at Halbur, Iowa. She attended country school near Halbur and later St. Augustine School in Halbur. On February 12, 1935, Helen was united in marriage with Leo Heithoff at St. Augustine Church in Halbur. They family farmed south of Roselle until 1972, when they retired and moved to Carroll. In Carroll, Helen worked at the Carroll Manor for several years and later joined the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary. Helen was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Ladies Guild where she helped with funeral lunches for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking and baking for her loved ones. After Leo died in 1996, Helen remained at her home in Carroll until her health began to fail and she became a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home in 1999. On April 18, 2010 Helen died there at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 10 days. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Joseph at infancy; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Tom Boes; grandson Brett Boes; great-granddaughter Libby Boes at infancy; sister Viola Drees and brothers Earl, Kenneth, Melvin, Milton, Irvin and Andy Eischeid. She is survived by her children: Glenn Heithoff and wife Dottie of Carroll; Pat and husband Bert Morenz of Auburn; Carlene and husband Keith Dorpinghaus of Coon Rapids; Gene Heithoff and wife Diane of Carroll; Jerry Heithoff of Great Falls, Montana; and Joyce and husband Phil Simons of Carroll; 27 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Joe Eischeid and wife Lillian of Carroll; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
