      Glenda Rosalie, daughter of Antony and Katie (Eskov) Jensen, was born September 3, 1919 in Clay Township, Shelby County, Iowa. She attended Clay #2 country school and Elk Horn Public School.    On July 11, 1942, Glenda was united in marriage with Clifford Andersen and five children were born to this union. The family lived around the Elk Horn area in several locations before settling in Elk Horn. Glenda owned and operated the Elk Caf in Elk Horn and worked at the Salem Lutheran Home for 34 years until her retirement. She earned her G.E.D. as an adult when her children were young.    Glenda was a member of Elk Horn Lutheran Church. She was always smiling and she enjoyed gardening, volleyball, Frisbee golf and playing the piano. She enjoyed good health and was able to live on her own even after the death of her husband in 1998.    Glenda died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Elk Horn on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 25 days.    Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; grandson Jeff Patten; great-grandson Chad Sevey; two sisters Mildred Andersen and Evelyn Hansen; and two sons-in-law Larry Leslie and Russ Patten.    Glenda is survived by her five children: Sharon Leslie and Mike Siderewicz of Minden; Jim Andersen and wife Mona of Georgetown, TX; Donna Patten of Hastings, NE; Avis and husband Dave Fuller of The Woodlands, TX and Ron Andersen and wife Pat of Council Bluffs; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Maynard Jensen and wife Rose Marie of Kimballton; brothers-in-law Elmer Andersen of Avoca and Dale Andersen of Atlantic; sisters-in-law Millie Eskov of Elk Horn and Leila Mae and husband Lloyd Nelsen of Kimballton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
