Florence Middendorf

April 21, 1920 — September 2, 2010

Florence Mary, daughter of Ben and Clara (Juergens) Danner was born April 21, 1920 in Arcadia, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in the Carroll area. After her schooling she stayed home and helped take care of her family. Florence was united in marriage with Leo Middendorf on April 4, 1944 in California. The couple made their home in Topeka, Kansas for about 35 years and Florence worked as a homemaker. After Leo's retirement in 1975, they moved to Southern California. After the death of her husband in 1995, Florence returned to Carroll and in 1997, Florence moved to Colorado. Florence loved dancing and walking, two activities everyone knew she loved to do. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont, CO. Florence left us on September 2, 2010 at Applewood Living Center in Longmont, Colorado at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 12 days. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Leo of over 51 years. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Alton, Donald, and sisters Alma, Laverne and Bernice. She is survived by two children, Alan Middendorf and wife Linda of Denver, CO and Diane and husband Dave Howell of Fort Collins, CO. She was blessed to have six grandchildren and six great grandchildren who also survive her and two brothers, Merle Danner and wife Bonnie and Paul Danner all of Carroll, IA.
